Committee meeting

15 August 2026

Attendees: Rod, Lorraine, Georgina, Dave, Alice and Lyn (note-taker). Apologies: Geoff, Stuart and Kim.

Actions from the previous meeting

Plot allocation

Since the previous meeting, ten plots had been available and seven had been let. Plots 14 and 14a were among the three still to be allocated. As several plots had recently been let, the council should have funds available.

Action: Lorraine to ask the Allotment Officer for plots 14 and 14a to be cleared so they can be let. The remaining plot, 41a, was due to be visited by a prospective tenant.

Social activities

The event planned for 24 June was cancelled because of the heatwave. The next event was arranged for Sunday 23 August from 2.30pm, with food and drink to share and a fun produce competition for the longest, biggest, smallest and strangest entries.

People unable to attend could leave labelled entries on a table from Saturday, giving the category, their name and plot number.

Hosepipe ban

Plot holders should be reminded that a hosepipe ban was in place and to be mindful when using mains water. Some people may be exempt; any hosepipe in use should be held and controlled, with water directed at plant roots.

Action: Geoff to send a note.

AGM planning

The AGM was set for 27 September at 2pm. All committee members present were happy to continue for the following year. Email addresses were held for more than 80% of plot holders.

Action: Lyn to check progress on actions from the 2025 AGM.

Next meeting

A possible November meeting was discussed, but no date was set.

Notes taken by Lyn, plot 40.
