Opening remarks
Kim was welcomed to her first committee meeting after being elected at the October AGM.
Actions from previous meetings
- No council action had yet been taken on the tap near plot 9, but Dave had installed a splitter so more than one person could use it. No further action was required at that time.
- Lyn would invite Councillor Rachel Eden to visit in April, before the local government elections.
- The suggestion of a mirror on the lamppost at the exit would be raised with Michelle Hope when she visited.
- Geoff would send a note about keeping paths between plots clear, including the main paths used for vehicle access.
Events during the year
The committee agreed to hold events every two months during the growing season, including two weekend tea and coffee socials and two Wednesday evening events.
- Saturday 25 April, 2–4pm: tea, coffee and cake with a Seed Swap.
- Wednesday 24 June from 6.30pm: a site tour to choose a “Best Kept Plot”, or similar.
- August, date to be confirmed: a competition for the tallest, biggest, longest and strangest produce.
- End of September: a social meeting combined with the AGM.
Plots and vacancies
Lorraine reported that six plots would probably become available in April. She was waiting to hear from Michelle about the next people on the waiting list.
Michelle’s visit
Michelle wanted to visit the site and meet the committee. She would be invited to the Seed Swap social on 25 April, and the local councillor would also be invited.
